The Great American Smokeout
If you are a smoker, November 16 just may be your lucky day! On every November’s third Thursday, smokers either smoke less or quit smoking for the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout.
This event helps people to quit smoking through awareness and support. Research has shown that smokers are most successful kicking the habit when they are provided help – whether it be through counseling, medication or encouragement.
There are “quit-lines” available toll free to help you find the resources you need to quit. Call 1-800-ACS-2345 for a local quit-line in your area. If you are a smoker, consider taking part in this incredibly worthwhile event. After all, it may just save your life!
