Are Air Fresheners Harmful When Used in Pregnancy?
Watch out for hidden ingredients in air fresheners that may be harmful to your unborn baby. Some air Fresheners contain a chemical called “phthalates” and can be dangerous to a developing fetus. It is rarely listed as an ingredient on the label. This chemical has been linked to hormonal abnomalities and birth defects, especially in male babies. There is more bad news regarding air fresheners. In a different study, there was concern over frequent use of spray air fresheners during pregnancy and early childhood that produced diarrhea and earaches in infants and headaches and depression in mothers.
