Fragrant flower scents, pink and white blossoms covering the trees, blue sky, growing grass and baby animals are just a few of the first signs that spring is in the air. New celebrity babies are yet another! Many special Hollywood arrivals have been announced within the past couple of weeks. These celebrities have more to celebrate than the coming of springtime, they have new additions to their family!

A Boy for Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton: Ignatius Martin

Actress Cate Blanchett, 38, and writer/director husband Andrew Upton, 41, welcomed another beautiful baby boy into their growing family. The couple’s third son, Ignatius Martin Upton, came into the world on Sunday, April 13^th in Sydney, Australia. Baby Ignatius arrived weighing a little over 8 pounds. He was thought to be slightly overdue, although Cate never publicly shared her exact due date. Ignatius joins proud big brothers Dashiell (6) and Roman (who will be 4 on April 23^rd). Cate is most commonly known for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth I in Elizabeth: The Golden Age, which earned her many awards including a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama. She also co-starred in the ABC drama Heartland and played Galadriel, the elf queen, in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

A Boy for Kerry Katona and Mark Croft: Maxwell Mark

MTV reality show star and former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona, 27, and husband Mark Croft welcomed their new baby boy, Maxwell Mark, on Friday, April 11^th. Max was born quite swiftly at 5:42 pm. He weighed only 5 lbs, 4oz, since he arrived five weeks before his due date. Kerry was admitted to the hospital on the 9^th for premature labor after her water broke. Doctors tried their best to stop the contractions, but ended up inducing on the 11^th. Kerry’s pregnancy with Max was anything but uneventful. At the beginning, Kerry thought she may have miscarried and later on, she experienced problems with low iron. In addition to all that, rumors of alleged drug and alcohol use during pregnancy abounds. Kerry denies these allegations, although she makes no effort to hide her on-going smoking habit. Filming of Kerry’s reality show Crazy in Love was suspended for a while last month after she checked into a London rehab facility for her bipolar di sorder. Footage from the labor/delivery is set to air on an up-coming episode. Max joins sisters Heidi (13 months), Lilly-Sue (5), Molly (6 ½) and Keeley(6). Heidi is the only child the couple has together- in addition to Max- and she also arrived early by 4 weeks. Lilly-Sue and Molly are Kerry’s daughters from her first marriage to Brian McFadden and Keeley is Mark’s daughter from a previous relationship.

A Girl for Elisabeth Röhm and Ron Wooster: Easton August

Actress Elisabeth Röhm, 34, and fiancé Ron Wooster, 40, had their first baby, a girl, on Thursday, April 10^th. The couple’s new daughter, Easton August Anthony, came into the world at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angels, CA, weighing 6 lbs, 13 oz and measured 18 inches. She was born 2 ½ weeks early, at 37 weeks along. Elisabeth’s 35^th birthday, April 28^th, was Easton’s due date. Elizabeth and Ron had their baby’s name chosen well before delivery. A rep for Elisabeth explained Easton’s name came to the new mom in a dream. The couple planned to name her Grace prior to the dream, then changed it to Easton. The name “Anthony” is Ron’s other surname, according to their representative. Playing the role of assistant district attorney, Serena Southerlyn, on NBC’s Law & Order gained Elisabeth fame. She had a recurring role as Detective Kate Lockley on Angel, as well. The proud new parents have wedding plans in the future, possibly this fall.

A Boy for Robyn Lively and Bart Johnson: Wyatt Blake

Actress Robyn Lively, 36, and husband, actor Bart Johnson, 37, were blessed with a baby boy this month. The couple named their new son Wyatt Blake, with his middle name being after his aunt, Blake Lively, who is also an actress. Blake stars as Serena in the TV series Gossip Girl. This makes three children for Robyn and Bart. Wyatt’s two older siblings are: Baylen and Kate. Robyn is best known for starring in the 1989 movie Teen Witch as the character Louise Miller. Bart played the role of Coach Jack Bolton (father of Troy Bolton, played by Zac Efron) in the Disney Channel Original Movies High School Musical and High School Musical 2. No word yet on Baby Wyatt’s date of birth, weight or length.

Actress Jodie Sweetin, 26, and husband, motion pictures transportation driver Cody Herpin, 30, are celebrating the birth of their first baby, a daughter. As anyone can imagine, life is pretty hectic at the moment for the brand new parents, but despite that, the proud new father shared their baby’s full name exclusively with Sure Baby, Zoie Laurel May Herpin

Baby Zoie arrived on Saturday afternoon, April 12^th- almost a full week past her due date of April 6^th. The couple’s baby girl weighed 8 lbs, 7 oz and measured 21 inches. Cody told Sure Baby,

“She [Jodie] had to do an emergency c-section .. We finally had her yesterday, but Jodie was in labor since Thursday. It was 40 some hours.“

According to a representative for Jodie,

“She and her husband and family are absolutely thrilled and in love with baby Zoie.”

Even though we’re all very anxious to see photos of their beautiful new baby girl, we won’t be seeing any just yet. That is, until they come out in People. Like the first photos of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s twins, exclusive rights to Jodie Sweetin and Cody Herpin’s baby Zoie have been secured by People Magazine. But, we don’t need to see photos to be sure Zoie’s perfectly adorable!

Jodie starred on Full House for 8 seasons, playing the middle daughter, Stephanie Tanner. Cody worked in the transportation department for Resident Evil: Extinction, as well as other movies. The couple was married last July 14^th in Las Vegas.

A very big congratulations, Jodie and Cody! We hope Jodie’s getting some much-needed rest after such an incredibly long labor and subsequent C-section!

Actress/singer/songwriter, Minnie Driver, 38, and boyfriend, San Francisco musician Craig Zolezzi, are expecting their first child in August. Craig has a son named Caden from a previous relationship. Minnie revealed their baby’s August due date this past weekend at Hotel Café in Hollywood, following a performance of a set from her 2^nd album Seastories, which was released last summer. Currently, Minnie stars in the F/X series The Riches, which earned her an Emmy nomination, as well as a Golden Globe nomination. Minnie has acted in movies such as Good Will Hunting, Grosse Pointe Blank, Return to Me and Ella Enchanted, to name a few.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in March, Minnie confirmed the on-going pregnancy rumors were not rumors at all. During that TV appearance, the new mom-to-be asked Jay, “Are you calling me fat? You’ve noticed my tummy haven’t you?”, after he joked about her gaining weight because of too many trips to the buffet. He asked her if she was pregnant and she said, “Yes I am”. Minnie then performed the song “Mockingbird” from Seastories.

Pregnancy hasn’t slowed Minnie’s touring the least bit. In fact, her tour will still take her to, “France, Germany, Norway, Switzerland and England”, she says, adding, “and I’m going to do a movie with Uma Thurman!” Minnie went on to say she’s really hoping for stamina, but she knows how to take care of herself.

Minnie admits, even though she loves pregnancy, she has been plagued with one not-so-fun aspect of it: morning sickness. “I am sick morning, noon and night,” Minnie told Jay Leno. She’s also said she hasn’t been as hungry as everyone told her she’d be during pregnancy- probably due to the morning sickness, I would bet. Any mother who’s been through this type of seemingly never-ending morning sickness can relate to not being interested in many foods until the nausea finally subsides. Minnie’s worst food aversions so far have been to eggs and raisins.

Minnie and Craig have been spotted out-and-about together several times, although Minnie has been trying to keep Craig’s identity quiet for now, despite being questioned by Jay Leno. Jay asked if he might know the father, but Minnie told him she didn’t think so. She told him, “I figure, I’m the public person, and he can stay private.” There had been previous reports of the father’s name being “Mathew“, because of a phone conversation overheard outside of a doctor’s office recently. Guess eavesdropping isn’t a good source of information afterall! Minnie has been romantically linked to John Cusack, Good Will Hunting co-star Matt Damon, illusionist Criss Angel and in 2001, she was engaged to No Country for Old Men star Josh Brolin.

Minnie appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show in March, telling Ellen she has chosen to wait to find out the gender of her unborn baby. She said, “I feel like it‘s one of the last great mysteries of life.” During the chat with Ellen, Minnie said, “Most of the women in my family get super girthy early on and I’ve got to say that’s why I have this nice chiffon dress on. I’m fat.” You’re not fat, Minnie, you’re pregnant and beautifully glowing! Congrats, Minnie and Craig!
