Twins for Jolie, Due in August

Published by admin under Celebrity Pregnancy

During an interview for the movie Kung Fu Panda (which will be in theaters June 6th), Jack Black let it slip that his costar, Angelina Jolie, 32, is expecting twins. Angelina stars in the new movie as the voice of Master Tigress. Brangelina, as she and Brad Pitt, 44, are so fondly called, will be expanding their family to six children come August, thanks to another slip by costar Dustin Hoffman during a separate interview with Today Show’s Natalie Morales at the Cannes Film Festival.

Dustin also revealed the babies-on-the way have an August 19th due date, although they’ll more than likely arrive before then. The new rumors swirling in Hollywood about just when the babies will be born claim Angelina may actually be having them in a matter of weeks instead of months. Even though the couple says they know the babies’ genders and they’re keeping them private, it’s been widely reported they are both girls and more than likely fraternal twins rather than identical.

Angelina commented that she’s very happy and loves being pregnant. She says pregnancy has made her feel more like a woman than she’s ever felt. Word has it that the babies will more than likely be born in France, where the expanding family has been staying. Angelina and Brad’s new babies will join three adopted siblings, Maddox (6), Pax (4) and Zahara (3) and biological sister, Shiloh (who turns 2 on May 27th).

Free Food Day, May 15th

Published by admin under Home and Garden

How often do you hear “free food”? Two fast food giants are giving away free food today, May 15th. McDonald’s is giving away free samples of their new southern style chicken biscuit and chicken sandwich while Duncan Donuts is giving away free iced coffee. Deals like these are not surprising since fewer people are eating out due to the increases in gas and food prices. We expect this trend to continue with new and innovative ideas coming from ailing retail chains and restaurants. “When was the last time you saw a line at the Cheesecake Factory?”, quoted from a popular online site. So true. Sure wish McDonald’s would give away a healthy alternative sample instead of greasy breaded foods.

According to the U.S. Health and Human Services and copied from their site,

“The 9th annual National Women’s Health Week will kick off on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2008 and will be celebrated until May 17, 2008. National Women’s Check-Up Day will be Monday, May 12, 2008.

National Women’s Health Week empowers women across the country to get healthy by taking action. The nationwide initiative, coordinated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health (OWH), encourages women to make their health a top priority and take simple steps for a longer, healthier and happier life. During the week, families, communities, businesses, government, health organizations and other groups work together to educate women about steps they can take to improve their physical and mental health and prevent disease, like:

  • Engaging in physical activity most days of the week
  • Making healthy food choices
  • Visiting a healthcare provider to receive regular check-ups and preventive screenings
  • Avoiding risky behaviors, like smoking and not wearing a seatbelt”

Make a commitment to do more to stay healthy!
