Recall: Simplicity Bassinets, Strangulation Risk
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is reporting that six retailers have voluntarily recalled a convertible bassinet, made by Simplicity Inc. The convertible "close-sleeper/beside sleeper" poses a serious strangulation risk. The CPSC is urging parents, caregivers and consumers to stop using this bassinet immediately, return it to the store where purchased and ask for a refund. The following six retailers have voluntarily offered to give full refunds or store credits, when the product is returned to the store: Walmart, Kmart, Toys R Us, Target, Big Lots and J.C. Penney.
For more information and specific model numbers, visit the CPSC website. The model number can be found on a label on the underside of the bassinet.
