Cadbury Chocolates Recall Due to Possible Contamination from Melamine

Posted by admin

cadbury3.jpgA spokesperson for Cadbury has fears that melamine may have contaminated their chinese-made chocolates and is recalling them, although tests have not been confirmed. Recent recalls from baby formula companies prompted Cadbury to take a closer look at their chocolate products made in China. Cadbury has said that tests "cast doubt" on the safety of these products and therefore are pulling them.

In the baby formula, reports are that 54,000 children have become ill and four deaths were caused by the ingestion of the contaminated formula. Melamine contamination has since turned up in products made with milk from China, such as liquid milk, yogurt and other products.

Cadbury chocolate products made in Beijing and distributed in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Australia have been recalled. Two food manufacturers in the United States are also investigating whether Chinese-made Oreos, M&M's and Snickers may have melamine in them.
