Fall harvest season is a great time of year to begin a Family Tradition. In conjunction with the end of the harvest, many farms and rural communities host Fall Festivals. These events are often a day trip away or an overnight stay at a nearby lodge or bed and breakfast. The kids will love to get outdoors and feel the cool crisp air and see the changing scenery, falling leaves, and natural beauty of the season.

Fall Festivals often include fun activities like:

  • Hayrides or pony rides
  • Hay or corn mazes to run through
  • Picking out a pumpkin to bring home and decorate
  • Musical entertainment like fiddling or dancing
  • Regional food sampling
  • Purchasing local fruit for use in making preserves or pies

Shopping the craft booths with local artist’s wares for holiday presents.

It’s easy to search out the events in your area by browsing the web or looking in the local paper.

Beginning a Family Tradition can give families a sense of security and comfort. It can be an event to look forward to each year with eager expectation, spending time together in a familiar surrounding. What better way to spend our days than building family relationships and making lifelong memories together. Make sure to bring your camera to record your outing and use for scrap booking later.
