Hospital Mishap: Couple Given Wrong Newborn

A nightmare that many mom's have has come true for Cristina Zahariuc. Like most moms, she was excited about bringing her new baby home from the hospital. Soon she realized that the hospital had made a huge mistake. She said, "...when I got home and I invited some friends and the baby's godparents to see her did I notice my girl had a penis. I was paralyzed," Cristina Zahariuc had given birth to a girl, not a boy. When Dad, Constantin, called the hospital to inform them of their mistake, it was difficult to convince them. The staff thought they were dealing with pranksters. After much frustration and persistence, the hospital soon accepted the facts and made the switch back. It turns out the baby they brought home had a similar last name and was situated directly beside their newborn daughter's bassinet.
