Nicole Ritche and Joel Madden Expecting Baby

Rocker Joel Madden, beau to Hollywood starlet Nicole Ritchie, announced over the weekend their happy news of new baby on the way. The announcement came via his band’s blog.

He wrote: “What’s better than winning an Oscar? I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister! “God has truly blessed my family. Hope you’re all feeling as good as I am right now.”

Harlow Winter Kate Madden is their first born, entering the world on January 11, 2008.

“She gives life a whole new meaning and a whole new purpose,” Richie told People magazine of Harlow, shortly after the birth, adding that she was ready to “move on” from her days as a wild child.

Nicole Ritchie, 27, is the adopted daughter of Lionel Ritchie. Her most recognizable claim to fame was her show, “The Surreal=2 0Life,” in which she starred with Paris Hilton, and has spanned five seasons thus far. She has also had some guest roles on various shows, and wrote a semi-autobiographical novel called The Truth About Diamonds. She was also very well known for her hard partying ways with notable gal pal Paris Hilton, but pleasantly surprised critics by focusing on motherhood solely after the birth of Harlow.

Joel Madden, 29, is the lead singer of the band Good Charlotte, which also stars his brother Benji Madden on lead guitar. The couple started dating in December 2006. Nicole has previously hailed motherhood as the greatest thing she has ever done.

She said: “Obviously, the birth of my daughter is the best thing ever. Just in general, it’s been a really great year for me. Everything is coming together. All of my dreams are becoming a reality.”
