Family Pet Python Almost Kills Toddler

According to Fox News, a horrifying story was reported involving a 3-year old Nevada toddler who was attacked by his family’s pet python.

On Jan. 20th, the 18-foot snake wrapped around the toddler threatening his life.  His 25-year old mother, Melissa Melendez grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed it more than a dozen times to get it to release the young boy.  His parents were charged with misdemeanor child abuse and are expected to enter their pleas on April 2.

The python was later euthanized by animal control officials.

Investigators allege that a 5-year-old child who was in the home also was endangered.
