Check your high chair and if it’s an Evenflo Majestic High Chair, it may have been recalled. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a voluntary recall of around 90,000 Evenflo Majestic High Chairs due to falling and choking hazards.

There have been reports of the plastic caps and metal screws on either side of the high chair coming loose and falling out. This causes the seat to suddenly jolt back and come off the chair. The concern is that children can fall out of the chair and be injured. Sixteen reports have come in of the seat falling back and 145 reports of caps and screws coming out or off of the chair. In at least one case a screw or cap was found in a child’s hand or mouth, but it was removed before choking occurred.

Majestic High Chairs were sold at retail stores, Toys R Us, Babies R Us, Walmart.com, and Burlington Coat Factory. You can find the specific item numbers for the chair at the CPSC website. If you have this item, do not use and call Evenflo at (800) 233-5921 for a free repair kit. You can also contact them through their website at Evenflo
