Jon & Kate Plus Eight: Season Five

A recent announcement, made my girls dance. I have a two girls, nine and eleven who absolutely adore the show, Jon & Kate Plus Eight. After an “uncertain” announcement on the season finale of season four, the family did not know whether they would continue their popular show.

On April 2nd, TLC announced that the show would continue. Today, we viewed a snippet on TLC for the first episode of the new season, “…going green.” Although, others have commented on the negative comments that are sometimes said on the show by the couple, mostly to one another, I am still good with my family watching the show.

I had to ask myself, how would I handle having eight children (six the same age)? I had six (not at one time) and my husband and I often had friction, especially when the children were young. I had three in diapers at one time, was totally exhausted and had a short fuse.

As my babies got older, life got easier and so did our marriage. Life isn’t always easy and Jon & Kate shouldn’t be expected to be any different than any of us. We all have problems that we need to work through. I applaud their efforts and look forward to what they have up their sleeve for this fifth season.

And, yes, I have seen the recent gossip about Jon and college girls. All I have to say about that is, “it’s none of our business.” To them, I would tell them to stop reading any tabloids and stop googling themselves. I know that’s easier said than done. But in today’s age, the media rumors are rampant about most anyone popular.

Hire a publicist (I’m sure they already have one) and let them decide what needs to be addressed. And, as many celebrities before them will testify to, it gets easier as time goes on. I really would hate to see them give up because of rumors and problems from being in the public eye, but certainly understand if they feel they need to pull back and drop the show, for the sake of their family. I’m just glad it’s not yet. Thanks Jon and Kate.
