Lost Toddler Saved by Puppy
Two year old Nathanial Teafatiller from Onalaska, Washington, wandered away from the house at around 7 pm after his father had fallen asleep. Lewis County Sherriff Mansfield said that they had approximately 150 searchers on the scene and that at around 11 pm a firefighter found the boy with his portable infrared scanner. Nathanial was found about a mile from home wearing a t-shirt and socks. It was cold and damp and there was his puppy, Stanley, a black lab, snuggled up beside him keeping him warm. Authorities believe he may have saved the young lad's life.
Mom, Ashley Teafatiller said "Everthing horrible ran through my mind." She said she had feared the worst.
The next morning the family put a new lock positioned high on the door to keep anything like this from ever happening again.
As a mom of young children, it is wonderful to hear a touching story that turns out so well.
