Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick Expecting Twins

After years of unsuccessful tries, Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick are trying an unconvential approach to pregnancy, with smashing results. The star of the hit show "Sex and the City" are expecting twin babies through a surrogate mother due later this year.

Representatives for the power couple released a statement saying, "Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate. The entire family is overjoyed."

Sarah and Matthew already have one son, James Wilkie, birthed on October 29th, 2002 at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, and motherly Sarah is apparently very excited about the upcoming arrivals. "They’ve always wanted to become parents again," reported a source through People magazine. "They realized after the first or second year after James was born that it would be nice to have another baby.

"They’ve always talked about wanting [more] kids, it just wasn’t happening. Sarah had difficulty getting pregnant. So they went the surrogate route." The source also states that, "Matthew is very hands-on. He loves to get on the floor and play with James. He’s a kid himself so he loves to act like a kid with James. And James, of course, loves it."

Sarah Jessica Parker, age 44, and Matthew Broderick, age 47, were married in May 1997.

"They're over the moon and excited as any prospective parents would be," says the friend. "Their life is about to get a lot busier," says a friend of the family.

Matthew's newest film, a drama called "Wonderful World," was introduced to the Tribeca Film Festival on the 27th of April. He is most known for starring in the cult class, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." Sarah is well-known and celebrated for her fashion-forwardness and is reported to be in the development stage of a 2nd Sex and the City movie. She is currently shooting "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" , a romantic comedy that costars Hugh Grant.
