Hydroxycut Weight Loss Products Recalled

hydroxycut-recallAn announcement was made on May 1st, by the FDA regarding Hydroxycut weight loss products. Lovate Health Sciences voluntarily recalled their Hydroxycut products due to cases of liver damage and death. The FDA put out a warning after 23 cases of serious health problems associated with Hydroxycut and one death due to liver damage had been reported. Other reactions can include nausea, jaundice, brown urine, weakness, fatigue, vomiting, stomach pain and loss of appetite.

Hydroxycut products are dietary supplements that are marketed for weight-loss, as fat burners, as energy-enhancers, as low carb diet aids, and for water loss under the lovate and MuscleTech brand names. The list of products being recalled by lovate currently includes:

  • Hydroxycut Regular Rapid Release Caplets
  • Hydroxycut Caffeine-Free Rapid Release Caplets
  • Hydroxycut Hardcore Liquid Caplets
  • Hydroxycut Max Liquid Caplets
  • Hydroxycut Regular Drink Packets
  • Hydroxycut Caffeine-Free Drink Packets
  • Hydroxycut Hardcore Drink Packets (Ignition Stix)
  • Hydroxycut Max Drink Packets
  • Hydroxycut Liquid Shots
  • Hydroxycut Hardcore RTDs (Ready-to-Drink)
  • Hydroxycut Max Aqua Shed
  • Hydroxycut 24
  • Hydroxycut Carb Control
  • Hydroxycut Natural

According to the FDA, not all the recalled products have been linked to serious liver-related problems, but lovate Health Sciences had agreed to pull all 14 products off shelves, anyway.

If you have a Hydroxycut product you are uged to stop using it immediately by the FDA and return it to the store where purchased.
