Happy Mother’s Day!

May
10 2009

Today, I woke up to a wonderful delicious breakfast in bed as I’m sure many of us moms did.  It really was yummy.  I also remember other Mother’s Days when my children were much younger and determined to make Mommy breakfast in bed and although it touched my heart, it was not edible. I ate it anyway, exclaiming how good it was. What a blessing and privilege it is to have children.

When my husband passed away a few years ago, it was the delight in my two little girls that got me through it. I thank the Lord for each and every one of my very special children. Hope you have a beautiful Mother’s Day!

Super Mom

Mom, you’re a wonderful mother,
So gentle, yet so strong.
The many ways you show you care
Always make me feel I belong.

You’re patient when I’m foolish;
You give guidance when I ask;
It seems you can do most anything;
You’re the master of every task.

You’re a dependable source of comfort;
You’re my cushion when I fall.
You help in times of trouble;
You support me whenever I call.

I love you more than you know;
You have my total respect.
If I had my choice of mothers,
You’d be the one I’d select!

    Today, the kids and I drove up to Fisherville Virginia and visited Andre Viette’s place. The kids chose some beautiful hastas for me and we went back and planted them at home. Wonderful day

    So far for my Mother’s Day my husband let me sleep in as he changed, dressed and fed the two and one year old best girls in the world. I was woke up with a cup of coffee and warm homemade waffles. I got two cards; one from my hubby and of course one from my girls with their hand prints that Daddy must have helped with. Money is tight here so in order to give me a present without making me upset for spending money hubby got me a gift certificate for a pedicure. A luxury that I miss. The rest of the day will be watching golf (Go Tiger) and just being with my family. Oh and I cheated and threw dinner in the crock pot. It’s kind of cooking.

    Happy Mother’s Day to everyone. I hope you are pampered and spoiled.

    I’m a mom and a grandma and on Mother’s Day I sure do miss my kids and grandkids who live in another state. They’ve called and we shared lots of love, so it’s been a good day. DH is cooking today – filets on the grill for dinner.

    Awe, and every time you look at your beautiful hastas you’ll remember why you got them… because you’re the best mom in the world to someone special :)
