Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery Expecting

Ellen Pompeo, 39, and husband Chris Ivery, age 41, are expecting their first baby together, reports her representative, Jennifer Allen to PEOPLE magazine.

“It’s great news,” says Jennifer Allen, adding to the statement, “They’re ecstatic.” Ellen and Chris, whom is a record producer, both hail from the great state of Massachusetts, and met at a L.A. Whole Foods grocery store in 2003. They began seeing each other 6 months later, and Chris popped the question in November three years after that. They tied the knot in November 9th, 2007 in a small but intimate ceremony at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau in New York, near the city hall, witnessed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Ellen Pompeo is best known for her starring role as Meredith Grey on ABC’s evening medical drama, “Grey’s Anatomy”. She isn’t the only doctor from that show expecting: Chyler Leigh, as Dr. Lexie Grey, and Meredith’s on-screen sister, is awaiting her third baby in May, a little girl, with her hubby, Nathan West. Ellen was nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Actress in a Drama Series category in 2007.

Shortly after dating, the couple discovered that they both had grown up a mere 10 miles from each other in Boston. They now reside in Los Angeles, CA, with each other and their two mini poodles, Valentino and Gigi.
