Jennifer Hudson Expecting

Dreamgirls Oscar winner, Jennifer Hudson, is pregnant with her first child with her fiancee, David Otunga. Jennifer, age 27, is seven months pregnant and has been victim to much tragedy this year, as her mother, brother and nephew were all murdered last October.

Family & close friends were seen in Chicago over the weekend, celebrating a baby shower for Hudson, whom previously denied the news in all reports. Fellow actress and friend Felicia Fields, also a guest at the shower, stated, "It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family. They're really trying to keep it kind of quiet. It was a nice time that we had." When asked about the due date of the baby, Felicia bowed out of commenting, but the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper reported that the actress had only two months left in her pregnancy. After being questioned on whether Jennifer and her fiancee had been given pink or blue gifts, Felicia commented to the Chicago Tribune, "They don't know the gender. More yellow."

So far, Jennifer Hudson's representative has not commented on any of the recent reports of pregnancy or the baby shower. Speculation began of the singer's pregnancy in April, when she cancelled many of her concert dates with fellow singer Robin Thicke, stating it was due to strain on her vocal cords. At the time, her management upheld that it was not due to pregnancy despite reports.

Jennifer Hudson is known best for being one of the most successful American Idol finalists in its history of being on air. She went on to record a very successful debut album, which earned her a Grammy, and took a part in the musical, "Dreamgirls," which won her an Oscar.
