recall

As of Thursday, June 4th, 2009, Backyard Play Systems has reported a recall of approximately 1800 outdoor play set gliders in tandem with the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the retaining rings that are used to anchor the gliders to the playset can loosen or detach, affecting a fall risk to children. So far there has been one report of a retaining ring loosening and falling off, but no reports of injuries.

The recall consists of outdoor play set gliders devised to dangle from home play equipment. The green plastic gliders were marketed as an accessory to play equipment sold under the brand names: Yardline Play Systems,Heartland Premium Play Systems, and Backyard Play Systems.

The gliders were being sold at Lowe’s and Backyard Buildings online at Costco.com, BettyMills.com, and BackyardBuildings.com and all across the country for around $100 from February 2008 through May 2009 . They were constructed in China.
