Lance Armstrong Twitters On Birth of Baby Boy
Lance Armstrong used Twitter to announce the birth of his new baby boy late Thursday night. He even posted a picture of the newborn, playfully poking his tongue out at the camera.
“Wassup, world? My name is Max Armstrong and I just arrived. My Mommy is healthy and so am I!” Armstrong typed to his Twitter account at about 11:15 p.m.
15 minutes later, Lance added to the post, tweeting how much he appreciated the delivery doctor and nurse who helped deliver his son, stating they were “amazing.” He also tweeted that Max weighed in at 7 lbs., 5 ounces and measured at 20 inches long.
Armstrong and girlfriend, Anna Hansen first announced their pregnancy in December and designated the due date to be in June. Lance has also conceived three children with his ex-wife Kristin. The happy couple stated that the baby had been conceived naturally with no outside help, which was considered impossible as with his ex-wife, Lance had to rely on in vitro fertilization from his sperm banked before he started chemotherapy.
Lance, 38, and Anna met in July of 2008 through his charity work.
She is an outdoorsy Colorado native who works a program manager for a non-profit organization that puts together adventure trips for young cancer patients.
He is most well-known for being a 7-time Tour De France winning cyclist, holding the record for most consecutive wins. He is currently mounting a comeback to try for yet another Tour De France title.
