Christmas Ornaments: Traditions of Christmas
Are you having trouble with little ones touching and picking up glass ornaments from off your Christmas tree? Instead of scolding them, place glass ornaments higher up on the tree and have your little one make his own ornaments for the bottom of the tree, with your help of course (not glass).
I so look forward to one day being able to put up my all silver and blue tree with blue and silver ornaments and bows going up and down the tree. It will be artificial, or course. But for now, my cut down from a tree farm, Christmas tree goes up and the kids decorate it with multi lights and many ornaments of different kinds. It never looks perfect, but it's always exactly how I want it. Each year each of my children pick out an ornament from Hallmark or they make one and it goes on the tree. That's what makes the tree ALL of ours. It's about family.
I've told each child that when they move out and have a tree of their own, they can put their collection of ornaments from all the previous years on their tree. When all the ornaments are gone, I'll put up my artificial tree. Unless of course we start this tradition with grandchildren. If that's the case, I may put my blue and silver tree in a different room, and have two trees. How many Christmas trees are in your house? Tell us about Christmas traditions that you've started or carried on from your parents.
