Matthew McConaughey Welcomes Baby Girl

Brazilian model Camila Alves, 26, and her actor beau Matthew McConaughey, 40, welcomed their 2nd child into the world at 12:13 on Sunday morning.

Although the couple had opted to keep the baby’s gender a secret until the final moment, Matthew posted an announcement on his personal website stating that the family had received a gorgeous baby girl weighing 7 lbs., 6 oz. and named Vida Alves McConaughey.

“Vida” is Portugese for “life” and that’s what God gave us this morning,” explained the happy Daddy.
“Camila is recovering wonderfully and we are truly honored to welcome this little lady into our family…. thanks for all your well wishes and prayers along the way. another blessed day. we give thanks. just keep livin, Matthew and Camila,” he added.

It was with great fanfare that McConaughey made the announcement of the new conception, reporting at the time, “We pulled off the greatest miracle in the world one more time. The future looks bright as the family grows.”

Vida joins big brother Levi who is a year and 5 months old, whom Matthew reported back in September as growing in leaps & bounds.

“He’s motoring around like [Olympic sprinter] Usain Bolt and eatin like [competitive eater Takeru] Kobayashi; Camila and I can barely keep up,” he wrote. “We call him the fruit bandit ’cause if there’s fruit out, he’s on it, takin it and eatin it.”

“He’s gettin bigger, more fun, smarter and craftier by the day,” gushed the proud Poppa.
