Play Yards with Bassinets Recalled Due to Suffocation

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the Dorel Juvenile Group have announced a voluntary recall of approximately 213,000 Safety 1st Disney Care Center™ Play Yards and Eddie Bauer Complete Care Play Yards

The danger and risk is that suffocation and asphyxiation can occur when the metal bars supporting the floorboard of the bassinet attachment come out of the fabric sleeves and creates an uneven sleeping surface. No injuries have been reported. The words “Safety 1st” or “Eddie Bauer” are printed on the bottom of the recalled play yards with the numbers 04025, 05026, 05037, 05088 and 05350.

The recalled play yards with bassinet attachments were sold at Babies “R” Us, Kmart, Sears, Target and Walmart from January 2007 through October 2009 for between $100 and $130.
