Young Boy Hands Out Heroin at School

Posted by admin

A story that no parent wants to hear about; an 8 year old boy started handing out small bags of the narcotic heroin to his friends at Turner Elementary school in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania. The words "Trust Me" was printed on the bags. According to MSN.com, more than 60 bags were given to the children before the teacher discovered them.  Letters were sent home to parents regarding the incident.  I don't know about you, but at 8 years old, would most parents ever really think this could happen? Guess we need to retrain our thought process. It's a real shame.

Update: According to Post-Gazette.com, the mother of the young boy was arrested after her son brought approximately 60 bags of heroin to school in his backpack.  During standardized testing on Tuesday a.m. the teacher saw the young boy fiddling with something in his pockets and investigated, turning up the bags.  Earlier reports suggested that all the bags were handed out before the teacher found out what he had been doing.

The mother of an 8-year-old boy who brought nearly $1,000 worth of heroin to a Wilkinsburg elementary school in his backpack has been arrested, Wilkinsburg police say.  Police would not release the woman's name or what she was charged with.  Police later found 18 of the bags, some of them opened, in a classroom trash can. Police said the bags were valued at about $10 each.  Wilkinsburg is about five miles east of Pittsburgh.
