Walmart pulls Miley Cyrus Jewelry

Walmart has issued a statement saying that they are pulling Miley Cyrus-brand jewelry from it's store shelves due to high levels of cadmium found in the jewelry.

Cadmium is a toxic metal and high levels over a prolonged period of time acts much like lead. Cadmium is a carcinogen and it has been evident in studies showing slow brain development in youngsters.  It also causes bone softening and kidney failure. 

The biggest concern with cadmium jewelry is that children will put it in their mouths which children are known to do. Cadmium in jewelry is not known to be hazardous from being worn.
