Fisher Price Recalls 10M+ Toys
Eek, Check through your toy boxes and go amend any baby gift registries you may have, Fisher Price is recalling over 10 Million toys.
Citing choking hazards and potential danger from falling into protruding parts, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has deemed several Fisher-Price toys unsafe, instigating a massive recall by the manufacturer.
Over 10 million Fisher-Price toys will be affected, including:
-Trikes and Tough Trikes
-Baby Playzone Crawl and Cruise Playground
-Baby Playzone Crawl and Slide Arcade
-Baby Gymnastics Play Wall
-Ocean Wonders Kick and Crawl Aquarium
-Bat & Score Goal
-1-2-3 Tetherball
-Little People Wheelies Stand 'n' Play Rampway
-Easy Clean High Chairs
-Close to Me High Chairs
-Healthy Care High Chairs
According to the CSPC, "Pegs stick out and children have fallen on these pegs." Other products have small pieces that have come free and caused children to begin choking. Fortunately, no one has been seriously injured as yet (though seven children did require stitches after falling into certain play equipment); still, to prevent any further instances or injuries, the CSPC and Fisher-Price insist that consumers stop using recalled products immediately.
No word yet on whether consumers will be compensated for recalled products. For more information on model numbers and dates of sale for the recalled products, consumers are encouraged to visit Fisher-Price's parent company, Mattel; online.

Pretty soon, people are just going to leave their children in fully-padded rooms so no one gets hurt. It all seems a bit much – “children were tripping over pegs?”
I’d better sue Sklar-Peppler for making that coffee table with sharp wooden edges that my daughter bruised her arm on.
