Alanis Morissette is Having a Baby Boy!
Canada's Alanis Morissette and her husband Souleye are expecting a little boy next month. The gender of the baby was revealed during a routine ultrasound.
Where do you stand on the know not know question?
Some people want to be surprised and some people want to know.
Me? I HAD to know, I am not a fan of surprises and there were so many parts of pregnancy and delivery that I felt were out of my control, I felt that at the very least, I could know what gender my little bump was.
My dear friend was so against knowing that she wore ear plugs to her scan and refused to look or even let her husband look in case he gave it away.
Personally, I think the surprise thing is a bit over rated, I would be surprised if it was an owl or a poodle that popped out, but it is either a boy or a girl, so I figured it was better to know and get to work bonding with my little sproutling.

I think we are too impatient as a society, and this is one of the last true surprises left. I didn’t find out.
I didn’t find out for either of my babies, but I was very much in the minority amongst my friends.
I liked the anticipation – finding out the gender beforehand seemed a little like peeking at your Christmas gifts before Christmas morning. I liked the idea of that exclamation of “It’s a boy!” or “It’s a girl!’ at the moment of birth.
