Zooper Stroller Recall
Parents of Zooper strollers, distributed by Lan Enterprises, are being alerted of a recall released jointly by the company and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
About 2,300 stroller units have been recalled due to a choking hazard. The recall applies to four models of the strollers made between February 2009 and June 2010, which featured an optional attachable snack tray / armrest bar.
The models are:
- Zooper Everyday, Tango
- Zooper Everyday, Twist
- Zooper Everyday, Waltz
- Zooper Elite, Flamenco
Between the snack tray / armrest bar and the bottom of the seat, there was a gap large enough that an unharnessed or improperly harnessed infant could fall through it and become trapped at the neck, causing strangulation.
So far, no injuries have been reported. Owners of these strollers are asked to stop using the stroller immediately, to remove the optional bar, and to contact Zooper USA to be issued a replacement bar and repair kit at no charge. Replacement parts will be made available starting on July 1st, 2011.
Owners can reach Zooper toll-free at (888) 966-7379 between 9 am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, or via the Zooper website.
