Pink Beats Paparazzi to Baby Photo Punch

This week's issue of People will feature a photo spread of Pink and hubby Cary Hart with their week-old baby daughter, Willow Sage. But far from selling out, she says that the photo shoot was her way of sticking it to the paparazzi by releasing those first public images on her own terms.

Pink explains on her website that she and Hart have been stalked and chased by photographers ever since the birth of their daughter on June 2. She decided to take control of the situation, saying "Due to the unsettling, surprisingly aggressive and unsafe measures that the paparazzi seem to be willing to go to in order to secure that 'first shot' of our daughter, stalking us, chasing us in cars and sitting outside of our home all day and all night, as new parents Carey and I decided that we would release personal photos of our Willow, and donate all the money to charity."

While Pink and Carey enjoy their celebrity status, and don't mind that their lives are on public display, they don't think that invasion of privacy should extend to their newborn daughter. Pink says, "It's one thing to harass and stalk us, the adults, the celebrity that signed up for this life, but children should be protected and safe." She calls on her fans to consider their role in protecting children from paparazzis, warning, "To anyone out there that buys a magazine, or goes onto a website to look at pictures of other people's children, may you at least think for a second about what you may inadvertently be supporting."

They will be donating money to children's charities including Autism Speaks and the Ronald McDonald House, which Pink calls one of their favorites.
