Beyoncé Pregnant with Her First Baby!

Last night's MTV Video Music Awards was particularly exciting for Beyoncé fans, as the 29 year-old singer happily announced to press that she was expecting. Wearing a flowing, vivid orange gown and a smile from ear to ear, Beyoncé cradled her baby bump as she told press on the red carpet that she had a surprise. A little later that evening, the mom-to-be stepped onto the stage to deliver an enthusiastic performance. One thing is for sure: pregnancy isn't interfering with her energy just yet!

In fact, her impressive performance returned a standing ovation, and Beyoncé finished it off by opening her sparkly blazer and affectionately rubbing her baby bump. The baby enthusiasm continued as the cameras spotted proud dad-to-be Jay-Z grinning in the audience, and a happy Kanye West patting him on the back . All in all, the big news made big waves over the course of the awards show, a welcome change to the often predictable (and underwhelming) grabs for attention that these shows can bring.

The news also comes after a wildly successful summer for the star, who released a new hit album. Although the couple had shot down numerous pregnancy rumors over the past few years, Beyoncé had always said that she wanted to have a baby by the time she turned 30, so it seems that the news has arrived right on time. On top of all that baby happiness, it's refreshing to hear how the couple is so down-to-earth and honestly in love, as she sated in a June interview with CNN.
