Mel B’s Baby Finally has a Name!

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown gave birth to a healthy baby girl last week, and while she eagerly tweeted her happy news, she was suspiciously quiet on the subject of a name. It turns out that Mel and her husband Stephen Belafonte decided to let Mel's oldest daughter choose the name, and we at SureBaby think she made a lovely choice.

The newest member of the Brown-Belafonte family will go by Madison Brown Belafonte, a moniker that 12 year old Phoenix settled on after several days of deliberation. It seems that both Mel and her daughter took the task seriously, as the 36 year old singer tweeted "Phoenix my daughter is still deciding our babies name, i don't wanna rush her, it will be soon!"

Lately, many celebrities have turned to traditional texts (the old testament, for instance) or simply phonetically pleasing words for their babies' names, but Mel B has evidently gone in another direction.
