Pottery Barn Kids Recalls Thousands of Dolls

Posted by admin

pottery barn kids dollsThe Girl Doll collection from Pottery Barn Kids is popular for its lively colors, comfy textures and trendy styles, but recent reports show that these little ladies are more dangerous than they seem.

Over 82,000 Chole, Sophie and Audrey models from the popular collection have be recalled due to strangulation hazard: it appears that these particular dolls have looped hair or accessories that can fit around a child's head and neck.

The Chloe and Sophie dolls have hair made of looped yarn, while the Audrey doll comes with a headband that can slip over a child's head and wind around the neck. So far only five reports of incidents involving the looped hair have been reported, but luckily no serious injuries have resulted.

The company, a unit of Williams-Sonoma Inc., sells their products in Pottery barn Kids stores across the U.S. and in their catalogs. These particular dolls were sold between July 2006 and April 2011 and retailed for about $40. If you're unsure of the specific model of doll, refer to the tag sewn on the bottom for the name.

Consumers are advised to cut the loops of hair on the Chloe and Sophie dolls, and remove the headband from the Audrey doll. Alternatively, you can contact Pottery Barn Kids toll-free at (855) 880-4504 between 4 a.m. and 9 p.m. PT for instructions on how and where to return the doll for a merchandise refund.
