Jessica Simpson is Pregnant – The Rumors Were True!

Well, not that you could knock us over with a feather here at Surebaby, but we’re still happy to report the exciting news that Jessica Simpson is in fact expecting!

The songstress and fashionista had been keeping mum on the subject (pardon the pun), officially confirmed the rumors when she tweeted a photo of herself in a mummy costume on Halloween, in which she was cradling her very pronounced baby bump, with the caption “It’s true. I am going to be a mummy.”

Rumor had it that Simpson was biding her time on announcing the news until she’d signed a deal with a magazine, but it appears her plans to share the news with the world only included a cute Halloween pun.

No word on whether the baby news will delay Simpson’s wedding plans with fiancé Eric Johnson, but for now the attention seems to be solely on baby. This will be the first child for both Simpson and Johnson, but may not be a surprise to them – in an interview with People Magazine last November, Simpson was quoted as saying “I definitely see myself having a family with him [Johnson], so that’s exciting to think about.”

The new baby will join cousin Bronx Mowgli, the son of Jessica’s sister Ashlee Simpson and ex-husband Pete Wentz.
