Beyonce and Jay Z’s Baby Girl is Here – and She’s a Diva!
She’s finally here! Beyonce and husband Jay-Z welcomed their baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter, on Saturday, and the little girl is already causing a stir.
According to reports, Lenox Hill Hospital, where Beyonce delivered the baby via C-Section, was essentially put into lockdown as a form of security for the celebrity couple’s new bundle of joy. It’s also been reported that the couple spent exorbitant amounts of money renting out half of the labor unit at the hospital, though neither report has been confirmed.
But rather than focus on the negative speculative information, we want to know more about that name! What’s in a name, you might be asking? Well neither Bey nor Jay are commenting so far, but that hasn’t stopped the press, fans and unnamed sources from speculating on where the unique name came from.
According to reports, “Blue” comes from one of Jay-Z’s favourite words, “blueprint”. In his lyrics, Jay has referred to himself as the blueprint for rappers, meaning he’s the best or a model for other rappers, and the word appears in three of his album titles.
If this is true, we’re not sure what it means for the baby – will she be the blueprint for all other babies born after? Will she cry less, change her own diapers? Kidding of course, at SureBaby, we actually think Blue is kind of cute!
As for the baby’s middle name, “Ivy”, the story there is even cuter. IV is the Roman numeral for 4, a number that has special meaning for Jay-Z and Beyonce. The couple both have birthdays on the 4th, were married April 4th, 2008, are said to have matching “IV” tattoos on their ring fingers, and 4 is the name of Beyonce’s latest album.
That’s the story on Baby Blue so far! Let us know what you think of the baby’s name in the comments!
