AOSOM Wooden Playpen and OBall Links & Mini Rattles Recall
Roughly 5,000 units of AOSOM wooden playpens (spanning four affected models) have been recalled across the US due to choking and laceration hazards. Over 69 reports have been received that the playpens can break, crack or split – including 3 reports in which parents found their children holding onto a piece of broken wood or a screw and one report in which a child had actually mouthed a piece of broken wood.
AOSOM playpens can be identified by the firm’s logo, an “A”, and their website, www.AOSOM.com, both of which are stamped on the playpen gates. A full list of affected models can be found on the US Consumer Product Safety Commission website. Consumers who have purchased these models are advised to stop using them immediately and contact AOSOM – by phoning toll-free (877) 644-9366 or emailing email@example.com - for information on returning their product for a full refund.
Second on the list of recalls are 14,000 OBall Links & Mini Rattles, produced by Rhino Toys Inc and distributed throughout the US and Canada. These rattles pose a choking hazard, as the “plastic C-links” on the rattles’ ends can break and could be swallowed by a child.
Consumers are asked to immediately take the rattles away from their children and contact Rhino Toys toll-free at (888) 250-9969 or by visiting www.rhinotoys.com, for information on receiving a full refund. Full details on the recall can also be found on the US Consumer Product Safety Commission website and on the Health Canada website.
