Baby Crib Recall Due to Fall Hazard
Several different crib models manufactured by Munire Furniture Inc. that failed to meet federal safety standards have been recalled recently. A total of approximately 24,000 Indonesian-made baby cribs with manufacture dates between November 1, 2005 and November 1, 2007 are included in this recall. Among those cribs are: Majestic Curved Top and Flat Top Cribs, Essex Cribs, Brighton/Sussex Cribs and Captiva Cribs, which were all sold at children’s specialty stores nationwide. The four brackets on the mattress support springs are too long and don’t allow the mattresses to be fully lowered to the 26 inch minimum height. Because of this, children inside could potentially crawl over the railing and fall out. If you have one, stop using it and contact the manufacturer for replacement brackets by calling (866) 586-9639.

Nearly 64,000 Cinderella 12-volt ride-on vehicles (designed for children ages 4 to 7) have been recalled due to faulty wiring under the hood and in the battery compartment. The wires can overheat and short circuit, which poses a fire hazard and the potential for burns. The cars were manufactured by Dumar International USA and sold at Wal-Mart stores nationwide from August 2005 through February 2006 for approximately $200. If you have one of these cars, keep your children from using it and contact the manufacturer by calling (866) 424-0500.
