Kelty Jogging Stroller Recall

Posted by Alissa Robson

Parents on the run be warned: Roughly 3,000 Kelty single and double jogging strollers are being recalled.

In cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, Kelty is recalling units of their Speedster Swivel Deluxe single jogging strollers and Swivel Deuce double jogging strollers, due to fall and injury hazards.

The strollers being recalled have an aluminum frame, a canopy and a cloth seat, and were sold in blue / gray and orange / gray color combinations. They were sold in sporting goods stores and kids stores nationwide from January 2010 to February 2012, and typically retailed for $375 to $475.

The recall was ordered after three incidents were reported in which the stroller’s front wheel came loose and caused the stroller to tip and become a tripping hazard. Adults reported fractured bones, and both adults and children suffered minor cuts and scrapes due to the malfunction.

Owners of the strollers are asked to stop using the affected strollers immediately and contact Kelty via phone – 866.349.7225 between 8 am and 4 pm – or through their website – – for free updated maintenance and assembly instructions.
