Two recalls to report today from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada – Explorer and Hammerhead Strollers by phil&teds and Little People Builders’ Load ‘n Go Wagons by Fisher-Price.
phil&teds Explorer and Hammerhead Stroller Recall
On July 28, the CPSC and HC issued a recall on over 7,500 Explorer and 1,900 Hammerhead models of strollers produced by phil&teds USA Inc across the US and Canada. Eight incidents of failure of the brake mechanism on the stroller have so far been reported, though no injuries have been incurred.
Owners are advised to stop using the strollers immediately and to contact phil&teds for repairs and replacements. Explorer owners will get a new frame and upgraded brake assembly, while Hammerhead owners will get a pre-paid shipping container to return their defective stroller for a repaired one.
Fisher-Price Little People Builders’ Load ‘n go Wagons Recall
Also on July 28, the CPSC issued a recall on Little People Builders’ Load ‘n Go Wagon, made by Fisher-Price. The recall is on model number P8977, sold from June 2009 to July 2007, which is a red wagon with a yellow handle, a dog figure and mult-colored plastic blocks.
About 208,000 models have been sold in the US and 2,800 in Canada. 7 injuries have been reported due to lacerations caused by the handle’s molded reinforcement when a child falls on it. 5 of the 7 reports indicated the children needed surgical glue or stitches.
