Epidurals
Posted On: 03/03/2011 01:51:26

Good morning ladies. It's 7:36am here :-). Anyway, i just wanted to chip in a subject many women dread talking about. Why are so many women ashamed of talking about epidurals even when they've chosen that option? Some women feel less than they are because they chose to take epidurals. I met a lady the other day at the market (holding a cute 3 month old baby girl) and somehow, the issue came up and, she said she feels guilty and feels she disappointed her baby by electing for epidural mostly because lots of women who didn't go that way give her a hard time for it. I was aghast. I had to quickly let her know she did what she felt was right for her baby. Some people have a high threshold for pain and some others don't, it's as simple as that. However, it shouldn't matter what option you take. I think there's a saying that "the end justifies the means". The end result is holding your baby in ur arms. That is what matters. I'd really like to know what you ladies think. God bless and good morning once again :-)

OMG Beans, You just scared me LOL...  I was so like, as little pain as possible, so was like Oh yeah I'm getting the shot and now I'm imagining this huge freaking horse needle LMAO....

My first and I have no idea about any of this stuff.  I've never known anyone that didn't get it, so it just seemed to be the thing to do.  I take it with your son, labor was bareable???

Lol Beans. U crack me up at every turn. :-D Anyway, yeah. It's ridiculous the way some women look down their noses at women who opt for epidurals.

Wow thats crazy! everyone i know has almost always choosen an Epidural and iver never known anyone to be ashamed of it....they are happy with their choice....I personlly wouldn't ever have one but thats only because i have bad hips and a back and im not into the sounds of drs shoving a huge needle in my back....but you have to go with what you feel is best for YOU and YOUR BABY!!!! dont ever listen to ppl telling you its wrong....it may be wrong for them but not for you....Thats just crazy that some people actually look down on those who take that option....Their the ones that need an eye opeing experience every labour and every person is Different if you have harsh labour then i would take the epidural just depends on circumstance, person and whats best for them and anyone saying thats wrong is a retard!!!!!!!! I would never think someones in the wrong for taking an epidural just becasue thats not my option i would tell that person where to go and how to get there lol I just know  of way too many people that have bad pain in the areas where they have recieved an epidural so i would never do it......Scares the crap outta me lmao....When i was in labour with my son and i saw a nurse come in the room with a huge freakin needle i FREAKED lmao but thats just me and there was 3 other girls in labour at that same time so it wasnt for me.......but yes i believe everyone should just do what they think is best and not listen or feel guilty for their choice.....as long as momma and babys healthy and happy thats all that should matter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
