Subject: Peta Attacks Over Weight Women
Content: "Imagine the surprise when the newest campaign to celebrate PETA's ideals featured an over weight woman in a red polka-dot bikini, with the words, "SAVE THE WHALES, lose the blubber: go vegetarian." This discriminatory message was featured on a billboard in Jacksonville, FL, and one wonders who this campaign could be appealing to? The ideal woman? Certainly not, as the Eva Mendes and Silverstone type ladies of the world are definitely not the norm. The average american woman is a size 14 and carries some around the middle. In a society that shows disrespect to people over weight, this doesn't help. Many who don't weigh 120 lbs. or less in Hollywood suffer from bulimia or anorexia which is dangerous to your health. And, many women who are size 14 workout regularly and consider themselves healthy. This campaign by Peta is meant to shock and get their vegetarian point across, but I say shame on them.
