I have a lot of symptoms that i had during my previous pregnancy. Such as, nausea, constipation, gas, headaches, major mood swings, urinantion more frequent (not tht much tho), weight gain and cravings. But my big concern is my smoking.

The last time i was pregnant i started getting really naseous from my cigarettes to the point where i would almost throw up. I really need advice and guidence because i still have to wait 2 weeks to even find out the possibilty of me being pregnant. PLEASE HELP !

Congratulations on stopping smoking! That is a definite step in the right direction. Have you started taking prenatal vitamins? If you have regular once a day multi vitamins, those will work for the meantime as well. It is important for your growing fetus to get enough folic acid in the early months to avoid potential birth defects.

Have you made an appointment with your doctor?

Your symptoms would lead you to believe that you are pregnant. There is a very high risk of pregnancy after an abortion or miscarriage so it won't be strange if you have conceived again. How late are you? When was your last period? My advise to you is to STOP SMOKING as of now to be on the safe side. Smoking has side effects which could harm your baby. As you mentioned you will have to wait this one out a little while longer unless you are already late then you can go ahead and test. I highly recommend that you take the blood test. it is more accurate...All the best...

That was my concern about me smoking. I dont wanna harm my patential baby. Thank you so much. Your information as well was very useful.

Hi MamaPANDUH and welcome to the site.

You don't actually have to wait to find out if you are pregnant. You can go to a clinic or your doctor's office and get a blood serum test and find out right now.

When you terminated your previous pregnancy did you use a morning after pill or have an in clinic procedure? I ask because there is always a chance that the hormones in the emergency contraceptives weren't used in time and the pregnancy continued although you may have bled some what (Which could lead you to believe that you had ended the pregnancy.

Morning sickness and sensitivity to strong smells and tastes is a very common side effect in pregnancy and there is no cure for it other than avoiding the things that trigger your nausea. So, if smoking makes you feel ill, you will just need to stop smoking or deal with being ill while you do. No easy answer there unfortunately.

I actually had a surgical precedure done. I will definately try to make an appointment as soon as possible because the wait is really killing me. Thank you soo much for the information you have givin me. I have stopped smoking. But everytime I tried after the first time I was feeling nauseous it was mainly because I wanna make sure this isnt like a psychological thing. But thank you very much.
