Waiting

Well, once again, I am waiting for the day to take another pregnancy test. My clear blue easy fertility monitor told me once again this month that I ovulated so I'm hoping for the best, but not getting my hopes that high up. Has anyone else had problems with their SO having low sperm count? If so what kind of things did you have to go through and if you have concieved was there anything that helped you out? Our doctor told us it's all about timing, which is why we spent the money on the fertility monitor. I just want to know if there is hope for us.

Hi,
I know exactly how you feel. I've had 2 kids in my last marriage and of course the marriage didn't work and now that i am with my second husband. Getting pregnant was the biggest issue we ever had. I know from the moment that it wasn't me who has fertility problems because i was for sure i was fertile..Unfortunately, my husband had fertility problems ever since and he never had any children with his previous relationship.. He has a low sperm count. He is already 55 years old and even though he is very healthy..So we had to go through fertility treatments. Our doctor suggested that we should consider trying IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) and ICSI (IntraCytoplasmic Sperm Injection). Even though I was fertile that time we had to do IVF because they need to collect my eggs and so we can do the ICSI procedure to where they inject one of his motile sperm in each eggs they will collect from me. It was  expensive treatment and very stressful but still it was worth it. There were 15 eggs collected from me but only 5 eggs were fertilized by his sperm. They only manage to get few motile sperm samples from him. In the first try, it didn't work. I think i was stressing so much and worrying that it might not work or always put my mind about it so much that it might have affected the procedure. So we tried again. The 4 remaining embryos were frozen and so we tried FET ( Frozen Embryo Transfer). It was really cheaper  and i didn't need to inject myself with hormones like i did the first time. All they had to do was just wait for me to ovulate and then after 2 days they transferred the thawed embryo into my uterus.. And this time i tried to get my mind off the pregnancy and tried to live normally as much as possible and not worrying.. And i was right about it! By May  10,2008 . The pregnancy test was Positive!!! My due date is on Thursday (JANUARY 15,2009). I am really so happy that i am able to give my husband his very first born SON!

So YES! it is possible that you can get pregnant but you need to go see one of the best fertility clinics near you. and if you say that the only reason you can't conceive is because of low sperm count then i would suggest you should try IVF and ICSI like me and my husband did and even though we thought it was impossible but it WORKED! It's worth to try. so go for it!

If you need more information about the treatment. feel free to ask me !

GOOD LUCK WITH THE PREGNANCY! HOPEFULLY YOU GET PREGNANT THIS YEAR
