I have been off of work since May 3. I am currently on Family Leave and go back to work in September. My mom is going to watch my daughter when I am at work. I work full time as a supervisor. I enjoy working but also need to work to help pay for everyday living expenses ($4.59 gas, $3.50 loaves of bread, etc.).  I have spent all day, every day with my daughter since she has been born and I love the experience. Are there any new mom's that are working after their maternity leave? How did you handle the change?

When my daughter was 6 months old, I went back to work. The child care situation that I had her in didn't work out and in the end I decided to wait another six months to return to work. It was tight, but I found I really needed that extra time with my daughter and glad that I took the extra time. Plus the next child care provider I found was a perfect fit!  It was not easy even then, but within a few weeks we both adjusted. Hope everything goes well for you

Honestly, working is the hardest thing I've ever done... make that "working out of the house."  I would do ANYTHING to be a stay at home mom. Wish I could. So going back with all three babies was extremely hard. But you do what you can, what you have to do, and just give all the love you can to your children when you are home.  I never had a babysitter - when I am not at work, I am with my children.. PERIOD.  Some might think this is not good, that I need "time for myself" -but the time with my children IS time for myself. :)  Just hang in there... times have changed - it isn't the 50's anymore. Women often HAVE to work. And with today's economy, that is even more so. Your children are LOVED... they know it. And they won't know any different.  Just remember that you working equates to your children having food, a home... and they are completely loved!!!
