Could Your Child Have Dyslexia?

Dyslexia is a language/space disorder. You may have even heard of it as a reading disorder. Dyslexia can be mild to severe, causing a child to have trouble spelling or difficulty reading.

Here are some signs that my indicate your child has dyslexia:
  • Your child has difficulty recognizing the alphabet, naming the letters or putting sounds to the letters.
  • Your child has difficulty rhyming or does not hear every word in a sentence.
  • It may be difficult for your child to put simple letters together to form a word such as c-a-t.
  • Your child may hear words incorrectly. For instance, if you say, “Tommy, go sit in the chair,” your child may hear, “Tommy, go sit in the hair.”
Many successful people suffer from dyslexia, such as Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, and even Tom Cruise. If you think your child may have Dyslexia, talk to your physician about help available in your area.
