Dear all,

I joined the community today. I just wanted to tell that I am blessed with a beautiful girl child on 11th Dec 2010.  Baby is doing fine. I just have a question regarding vaccination for my kid.  We have given her two dosage of DPT vaccination for the last months and third one is due for next month. Really it is painful for her and also for me to see her suffering whenever the dosage is given although it may be for good reasons.  I wanted to know whether third dosage is absolutely essential or is it ok even if it is not administered.

Hoping for a reply from someone. Thank you .

Welcome to the site. On the long run, it's better for baby to stay healthy than being afraid for her pain. As long as the health care provider says she needs 3 doses then, you should let her have it. What if she becomes gravely ill just because that last dosage wasn't given to her? It's better for baby to experience the pain for just a short while than to go through prolonged pain later that could have easily been averted. I'd say it's better safe than sorry. Cheers.

I agree with Mum1166. I'm not a medical expert, but it's my understanding that your child will not be fully protected unless she receives the full course of vaccinations.
