i really like place names like brooklyn and dakota. they sound exotic and familiar all at the same time. the ultrasound tech thinks im having a girl but im afraid to take that as fact because i hear so many stories about surprises on the birth day, but i think a lot of place names can be unisex, don't you? here are some im considering, i think they could all be for a boy or a girl. please add any suggestions cause id like more ideas!

  • brooklyn
  • dakota
  • aspen
  • rio
  • london
  • ireland
  • paris

Ooh, I love baby names!

From your list, I think I like Aspen best. For a girl it sounds beautiful and soft, like an aspen tree. For a boy it sounds rugged and adventurous, like the ski resort!

If you like exotic, what about Cairo or Memphis? (Memphis was a city in Egypt before it was one in Tennessee )

mom of two - memphis is cool, i hadnt thought of that one

nayz - the ultrasound said its a girl, but i don't want to get too hung up on that in case its wrong. but i do love names that can be for either, so i can still choose a name that will work either way!

I have always loved Brooklyn. I hadn't thought of Aspen but I do like it. Paris is a "no" thanks to Paris Hilton (she ruined that name for me).

What about Phoenix? I like that name.

Also, I really like Dakota as well.

Victoria and David Beckham's son is named Brooklyn. Personally, I like Brooklynne for a girl and Brooklyn for a boy, but that's just my opinion.
