General Discussion | Early period on the pill

I have been back on the pill for the third month now and not due for my period till next week. I have noticed spoting happening this morning. Last month it came the same day I stopped taking the pills. If it starts today it will be a week early. I've never had this happen before when on the pill so is this normal?

What kind of pill are you on? It's possible that it's not strong enough. I don't think you should be getting your period while you're still taking pills! Mine usually starts 2-3 days after the last pill.

I'm on Aless generic brand. Its only spotting so far. I was on it before I planned to have my daughter for over a year and had no problems with it at all so its weird that I'm getting spotting now that I'm back on it after having a baby. My first period back on the pill was normal. Then the next one started right on the same day I stopped taking the pill. Now its the spotting a week piror to the period due.  

I would guess it just because of all the hormones still in your body. It's probably nothing serious, but still i would let your doctor know. Maybe you need a different brand of pill now.

I agree with Nutmeg -- different pills can react very difefrently with your body! I know this from past experience. In fact, I've heard about more inconsistencies with Allesse than with other brands, so perhaps you can try a different pill with similar levels of hormones?
