Kelly Marie Pocock received a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to child cruelty for allowing her 3-year old son to smoke a cigarette.
The video is reportedly taken with a cell phone showing the toddler lighting up a cigarette butt, inhaling a puff while his mom sat nearby talking on her cellphone. A family friend, Natasha Dudley, 25, was so concerned seeing the toddler smoking that she contacted the Department of Social Services and showed them the video that she had taken on her cell phone. Clearly this child knew how to inhale and had been smoking regularly. The judge who proceeded over this case, called the child a "habitual smoker."
I wonder what kind of damage was done to this little boy's lungs at such an early age, since he is still growing rapidly. This is astonishing to me. Do you think the tot mom should have served a 40-week jail sentence. Or do you think the children have suffered enough as the judge saw it when he suspended her sentence. Your thoughts?
