This is my 3rd baby, and I was shock to realize that I gained 18lbs in my 2nd month. I am now 12 weeks. Does this mean I'm going to keep gaining weight this way? With my 1st two I only gained the average 30-35lbs. This pregnancy is truly scaring me. Has I do not want to gain 80lbs...I'm in my 30's now and weight is getting harder to come off.

What to do?

wow, i'm no expert, but I can see how that would be alarming!

I gained more than recommended with my first (45lbs) and I'm gaining evon more the second time around. I'm sure if I go for a third, I'll have to be really careful about my weight.

Have you talked to your doctor about it? Is anything different in your lifestyle this time around? I have a desk job now, for example, so I'm much less active than I was with my first.

My only advice would be to cut out all sugar and snack food and just try to eat super healthy. Maybe a prenatal exercise class, if you don't have any other health conditions?

Thank You!

I've been staying away from fast food and junk, also, I'm trying to keep a unprocessed diet. Healthy for me and baby. I'm hoping by doing this I won't gain any weight in the next couple months.

I've also been bloated and the Ultra sound tech discovered gas bubbles in my chest. Very painful at times. So, I've been staying away from foods that cause gas...Apples, corn, brocolli, prunes, plums, etc. and of course dairy. It's hard to cut out diary completely, so I just cut down on it.

Again, thanks and we'll see how the next few months go....
