Does/has anyone coslept with their toddler? How did you break the habit and get them in their own bed?

I only co-slept with my second daughter because my hubby went to Iraq for a year and she has never (until she turned 3) slept through the night. About a month before he returned (right before she turned 2) I would stand by her bed every time she woke and not get her out and over time she would still cry out and I would go to her and tell her I was here and she was fine. now a year later she sleeps completely through the night in her own bed!  It takes consistency and time and you will not get a lot of sleep!! I don't like having my kids in bed with both of us. No room!  They like to crawl in bed with us on the weekends!!

I know! There's definately not enough room for dh, my 16 month old, and my pregnant butt in a queen size bed. It just doesn't work. DS has been in a big boy bed for several weeks now and it's going great. We won't be co-sleeping at all with the new baby!
